Low Income Housing tax Credits & Transit in Illinois, 2013

Illinois' 2013 Qualified Allocation Plan awards points for developments in proximity to transit. 

Points will be awarded based on proximity to transit, depending on the location of the development.

  • City of Chicago – Within .25 miles
  • Chicago Metro –Within .5 miles
  • Other Metro - Within .75 miles
  • Non-Metro – Within 1 mile 

2 points - For projects located within the proximity radius of a fixed route transit stop defined as buses and trains serving local destinations and operating on a schedule beginning no later than 8am and ending no earlier than 6pm, Monday through Friday. 

1 point – For projects that are served by “Dial-a-Ride” services available to the public at large and operating on a schedule beginning no later than 8am and ending no earlier than 6pm, Monday through Friday.
