Low Income Housing Tax Credits & Rural Housing in Arizona, 2016

Arizona's 2016 LIHTC Qualified Allocation Plan prioritizes the development and preservation of rural housing by establishing a set-aside and awarding points.

Arizona’s 2016 QAP has a set-aside for two projects located Balance of State Areas; each Project located in a separate Balance of State Council of Government Area (“NACOG”, “WACOG”, “SEAGO” & “CAAG”). Rural areas are defined as outside of Maricopa or Pima County.

Up to 15 points are available for rural area development, defined as projects located outside of Maricopa and Pima Counties.

The 2016 QAP establishes the general goal of providing an “equitable distribution of tax credits across the State.”
